The Clearing I selected this book because I had enjoyed so much, The Missing, by the same author, Tim Gautreaux. The Clearing is an earlier book, and in writing terms, I felt that The Missing was a slightly better book, but only because the author had not quite got into his stride. Despite this, I was not disappointed.
